Sarah Jessica Parker Stars In Glee As Vogue Editor! Once More A TV Series Style Icon?

A few days ago it was announced what us girls have probably been waiting for, for a long time: seeing Sarah Jessica Parker channeling her inner Carrie Bradshaw in yet another TV appearance. Hold on though… it has nothing to do with SATC, but with Glee! Sarah Jessica Parker will star in Glee as Isabelle Wright – a Vogue designer & editor.

In the episode airing tonight (Thursday) her character, voicing the oh-so-loved-by-us fashionista, will be interviewing Kurt (Chris Colfer) for an internship. Though not a fan of the show… (there I said it), to be honest with you I am truly looking forward to watching  SJP star in a role that seems to be written for her. Portraying the true meaning of today’s style icon, I can already picture her making her way through mountains of clothes or standing at a desk in the most exquisite outfits, wearing shoes we’d kill for, with her rebel curls and quirky style. I tell you… just thinking of this, I can feel another Sarah Jessica Parker fashion craze boiling up. And I can’t but wonder if this Glee partnering was a hidden fashion move? And if so, who was behind it? And why? Is Sarah Jessica Parker‘s chatting to Anna Wintour (so heavily depicted in the news) just a friendship, or are subtle benefits involved? And if so, who for? Benefits or not… it was Vogue that offered and styled the actress and adorned the scenes with designer pieces from: Prabal Gurung, Altuzarra, Belfast, Fendi

On the other hand… what better choice for such a role than Sarah Jessica Parker? With a CV that has Sex And The City on top you’d be crazy not to consider her for such a role. Not a beauty, but rather a genuine charismatic and sexy person, Sarah‘s style has taken her to stardom. A great actress (don’t get me wrong) it was Carrie’s way of dressing, clashing styles, pairing the most uninspiring items and making it all look amazing, cool & fashion forward – that has made Parker uber famous and turned her into a style icon. Memorable quotes,  her on/off relationship with Mr. Big, her shoes, jokes and girls’ lunches and nights out have made her and the show a fashion trend and statement. So choosing her to embody Vogue’s editor was a no-brainer!  I’m sure it had nothing to do with her closeness to Anna Wintour or with the fact that Ms. Wintour‘s daughter Bee Schaffer is working for Glee‘s co-producer Ryan Murphy ? Anyway… not one to care too much over these issues I couldn’t care less about the reasons behind all this, cause the truth is I’m more than happy with the outcome.

It’s not like Carrie Bradshaw” Sarah told Vogue about her style in this series. ”It’s fashion, but it’s not crazy and eccentric. We’re doing very strong, simple shifts. It’s sexy, hard and facilitative.”

  1. It’s funny, I like SJP for her amazing styles but there is that one pic that always stops me in my tracks, where she’s stepping off the stair wearing the black coat, maybe it’s because she’s in motion, I don’t know but it has to be my favourite!

    • Hey Caroline I totally agree. omg, just took another look at the photo with the black coat, u are so right. It does look so amazing. simple. classic. stylish. And she is one of my fave. best style icon of the 2000s. Love her. Thanks:) xoxox
