Spring/Summer 2012 Trend Report. Statement Trousers

As we go further into spring/summer days I come to realize it’s finally alright to go a bit mad, over the top, crazy and as original as we can with out daily outfits. And why not. I did say fashion is a way of self expression after all right?  With this in mind I am quite pleased to see a new tend being born.  The streets, fashion magazines & stores are packed with printed trousers, leopard leggings, brights, wide legged, harem or skinny ones… It’s the time of The Statement Trousers! The wildest the better! The more it stands out the more you have done a better job dressing up. It’s about style, standing out, telling a story, being different…

Spring Summer 2012 Collections was packed with  statement trousers! Catwalks were flooded with prints of all sorts, brights that hurt the eyes and one of a kind designs. From Dolce & Gabanna to Salvatore Ferragamo to Jil Sanders this season’s collection are a delight to the eyes. So are London streets come to think of it. Women feel freer to wear anything and experiment. So I’m seeing it all. From harem trousers amazingly paired with blazers and heels, to skinny and converses, from tacky leopard prints to geometric ones, from high waist wide legged 70s inspired trousers to pretty daring bright, cropped, cut, wicked, weird… It’s all out there!

Even a look at our dearest celebrities might be an inspiration of some sort. Beyonce is loving this trend and goes for the loudest prints & cuts! So does Cheryl Cole – though she’s still a ling way from getting it right. Chloe Moretz is a fashionista by the day as well as Heidi Klum!

Have a look at some statement trousers as rocked by celebs & people on the streets. Also find a few other pieces I really like…

  1. I just love statement trousers! I especially like the floral and the metallic trousers, Heidi’s are so cute! I’m really liking the pajama pants too, they look sooo comfy. You got some really great looks here!
