Did Marilyn’s remark stand the test of time? I’m not sure of its per se meaning today, yet when it comes to these precious stones, I wouldn’t dismiss Miss Monroe’s famous quote altogether. I mean have you seen these stones? Diamonds certainly have this power of seduction over anyone looking, holding or wearing one. You’re mesmerized and hooked. It’s their elegance, refinement and luxe that just make you cringe at the thought of having to part with such a stone. Or the desire to buy one and wear it all the time, overwhelms you.
And why not indulge in such pleasures after all? At the end of the day, diamonds, more than any precious stones and jewellery are a timeless investment. The do stand the test of time in fashion, beauty, class and especially value. And since we’re having this practical talk let’s nail it 100%.
Poison Diamond. While personal taste and budget may be of utmost importance when buying diamonds, do bare in mind their value and elegance over time. Simplicity or Statement? Yeah, I’m one to splurge on opulent accessories and dismiss the ‘less is more’ remark, yet when it comes to these stones I stand corrected. So, as we spend les millions on guilty pleasures & statements of luxury I’m thinking if you were to choose just one piece, what would it be? Rings? Necklaces? Bracelets? Earrings? And would you go for simple, or statement? The easiest piece to wear and accessorize, I feel is earrings . They were, are, and will forever be my #1 guilty pleasure. Besides, I always wear earrings. Always. Even when I go to bed I’ve got the tiniest studs on. Contrary to my bling-esque persona, I’d go for simple classy elegant diamond studs. The ones at Marlow’s Diamonds - a jewellery trading for over 3 generations, incredibly experienced retailer on high class pieces, deliver just that: class & great taste, high quality and fine elegance.
Marlow’s Diamond Earrings are a range of designs from the classic simple studs you can don on a daily basis, to more edgy or statement pieces (chandelier, endlessly long designs, massive colored stones) red-carpet-worthy. A pair of these on, and who’s looking at the dress? Or who needs extra fashion daily razzmatazz with diamond studs on. Exceptional quality and just the right amount of that high-class rich sophistication.
The truth is any piece of diamond jewellery is a statement of luxury, beauty and style. We may not buy them as often as cupcakes, but if we decided to do, we know it’ll be a generation to generation beautiful legacy. Any diamond piece is a great gift for loved ones, they’re a symbol of great taste and luxe.
The earrings, nonetheless are my poison of choice.
Why? Cause those I can wear all the time (if I want to!) and pair them with anything. Morning cuppa with the girls: diamond earrings on. Posh cocktail party: ding! ding! they’re on. See what I mean. Investment in time and elegance, aaand getting practical, without losing the sartorial flame. So I want a shop to give me just that: incredibly high quality and value, simplicity and class over opulence (we are talking diamonds for God’s sake, if that’s not enough of an opulence by definition I don’t know what is?) And I want to find every possible jewellery there from earrings to necklaces to rings et all. A girl loves to browse before dropping millions, right? That’s why I loved Marlow’s Diamonds. For all it stands: tradition, value and high class fine pieces.
Now that we picked our stones, how do we wear them? Let that be our major issue. The great thing about diamonds earrings, necklaces, rigs or bracelets is that, while they may be too much for some on a daily basis (unless we’ve got a hunky bodyguard to give his life for saving ours. ah…), they’re the best pieces for a special occasion: dinner, anniversaries, cocktails, parties, posh events.
Let’s have a look at how the stars wore theirs and some street style pics for inspiration. Regardless of the jewellery’s design wearing a diamond makes any girl feel rich, beautiful, sexy, refined, irresistible, strong, fabulous, sophisticated. The power of these stones… Marilyn might have been right after all. :)
Have a lovely weekend! xoxo
