When it comes to fame & money, love & hate, there’s no one like Kim Kardashian – the woman who makes us watchers split into 2 teams who either praise or hate her. FashionTag has taken the time to see what the buzz is all about with Kim Kardashian. Is her style one to aspire to or not? Does this woman know good fashion? Kim Kardashian is always in the spotlight promoting her fragrances, clothing line, hanging out with her sisters, spotted on airports, going on shows, doing red carpet appearances… Her job is looking posh and branded at all times, so it comes as no surprise that her style evolves around ‘always looking groomed and dolled up‘.
What Kim stands for style wise is the Hollywood/New York/Miami woman who loves her curves, dark long luscious tresses, full lips and dons her sex appeal and kitten like hotness in high heels, leather leggings or tight ripped jeans, blazers, super fitted dresses, plunging cleavage. She loves rich basic luxurious textures and colors: whites, black, reds, blues, lace, fur, leather, cashmere, silk. She’s always caring an amazing bag (usually a Hermes) and uber cool glam accessories: bracelets, bold necklaces, huge sunglasses, animal printed scarves, short dark nails (love those)…
As she has build a name for herself she has put a style on that too – Sexy Glam! I do confess I’d love to see her a bit more edgy and experimental with her fashion choices and I recon Kanye West has a bit of this ‘try-new-stuff’ effect on her. She seems to go for more clean, retro, cover-up outfits, and though they may not always do her justice, hey, we’ve gotta give the girl points for trying, right? I mean we’ve all gotta learn how to walk before we run. So I’m still holding my breath on that one. I wasn’t too keen on her white lace dress (too busy for her short frame) but her casual black ensemble from her and Kanye‘s trip to Italy (fitted dress and oversized trench with a casually thrown camera over her shoulder) looked fabulous! Also a more natural looking hair, or just different may bring some freshness to her image. For instance she looked fantastic in the white skinny trousers and white peplum top with a much shorter, straight natural hair-do. Same wow effect on me, had her bohemian 1970’s inspired looks: bell-bottom jeans, wedges, loose tops, beach tresses, fringe bags. And though these styles may not be quite Kim Kardashian, it is refreshing and fun to see her a bit more different, if not for the actual looks, than at least for creating a more wow effect when donning her actual style.
So let’s just hope Miss Kardashian will have more fun with her fashion and not take it so seriously and we’ll get to see her in new funky outfits. If not… we’ll always keep her as a major reference for stunning makeup, hair, jewelry, shoes, bags and red carpet looks (the black dress and red long one are absoluteness mind blowing). Her casual street style? Sexy business like: amazing leggings/skinny trousers, high heels/boots, shirts & blouses in rich fabrics and blazers of millions of colors, cuts and designs. Sometimes she goes for the skirts, or maxi dresses, or as of lately peplum, over-the-knee-retro dresses that cover her up. Bad? Quite the opposite, if I may say so.
So leaving aside all the controversy this beauty brings with her – upon focusing on her style, we gotta give her what she deserves. She knows sexy, and does it. She knows her fans and niche and delivers just what they desire – which coincidentally represents her own fashion choices. Though a rich babe, she sympathies with her fun base and respects their support and wish to be and look as their idol – so she and her sisters make sure their styles are affordable for us girls. Their Kardashian Kollection at Sears looks fantastic and quite appropriate for both office attire and going out. Kim Kardashian loves to look beautiful and glamorously put together. Is there a limit to that? Should the media & people blame, judge or scrutinize her for looking too posh and groomed all the time? Or is she playing it a little too safe or been-there-done-that, style wise, in a time when women and girls want to shock and be more rock’n’roll and edgy?
